Izabella Gray, Talent Manager of Onyx Music Artist Management and Regional A&R Subdirector of Se7enth Fury Grammaton Records, gets a sneak-preview of Red Nash's new EP Theory of Energy. Here's an exclusive interview with the artist.
IG Red Nash, I have here with me your new EP Theory of Energy. It is, without reserve, one of the most beautiful and artistic progressive and uplifting trance EPs I have ever heard. I am truly very fond of your music and am very happy to have you on Se7enth Fury Grammaton Records!
RN Thanks a lot! Seriously, it means a lot to me your polite words.
IG I would like to ask you some questions regarding your music, and specially this wonderful EP. Shall we begin?
IG Ok! Well, I would very much like to know where you get your inspiration from? I mean, what inspires you to create your music?
RN Well, everything around mainly... but lets say it's my passion; since I was young I used to hear pop music, etc. I got that feeling inside that I wanna create my own music. I've worked with music in general, not only EDM. I started to hear a lot, study a lot, get more experience... after a while I met a guy who used to be DJ. He taught me a lot and since then I used all these experiences to create my own sound.
IG Wow! So who or what would you say your musical influences are?
RN You not gonna believe it, but it's from different genres, not only EDM artists. To name a few: Michael Jackson of course!!!! Some of the rock bands and even metal.. I am into hard music actually, and on EDM I would say Armin van Buuren & Tiësto.
IG Can you please define your musical essence in 3 words and then elaborate why?
RN Trippy, Energetic and Me! And to explain each one: Trippy cuz I am more into Trippy Synth in music... which leads us to an Energetic feeling... a heavy track. I am into hard music like I mentioned before... so that leads us to Me!! I only feel passion when these things are on a track, no matter what the genre is, or type of music, lets say.
IG Ok! Your music sure is passionate and inspiring! So, of all the tracks you have ever composed, which is your favorite, and why?
RN A track that I do love a lot is called Travel of Sound. It's a dance/electro house track, and Theory of Energy as well. The thing is, music (EDM) stores need commercial music such as progressive /uplifting trance, etc. or house, of course, but if you asked me, I am into hard trance more often.
IG But Electronic Dance Music is making a strong comeback. Why do you think EDM is gaining strength worldwide?
RN Well, actually I am saying it is coming back and strongly. This is why house became mainstream and gaining a huge fan base; they simply mixed house with dance and pop.
IG Talking about mixing, how was your experience recording with Diana in Dancing All Night Long?
RN She's a friend of mine that I know from a long time from other music projects. I was badly in need of a vocalist in my music, especially trance, so the music was made and sent to her. She did the vocal, I did the master, and here it is. I hope I can know more artists now so that I can collaborate with them to make such tracks.
IG Oh! So, along these same lines, is there any artist with whom you would like to collaborate or perform with?
RN I would say any artist that feels the piece of music he's working on! I prefer soft vocals more often; one day I would love to collaborate with Emmy White Or Nadia Ali, to mention a few specific names.
IG Well, thank you very much for your time and words, Red Nash!
RN Thank you Izabella, it was my pleasure!
