Izabella Gray, Talent Manager of Onyx Music Artist Management and Regional A&R Subdirector of Se7enth Fury Grammaton Records, gets a sneak-preview of CORE's new EP Key Moments. Here's an exclusive interview with the artist.
IG Hello CORE, I'm now listening to this great and marvelous EP of yours, Key Moments. The rich soundscapes and impressive beats and melodies immediately transports me to Ibiza, or some other famous nightclubs around the world! So, thinking in a near future, if you were to find yourself in front of a massive audience, where in the world you would like to perform? Any country or city in particular? A particular stage or auditorium?
CO There isn't any country that I would rather like to perform than Miami. I think that, for now, it is the epicenter of EDM. I would like to perform to dutch people (hahaha) - I think there is something pecular to their country. We see so many dutch DJ and music producers with talent there. Relatively to stages, I would like to perform in Tomorrowland (Belgium) and Ultra Music Festival (Miami). They create a massive vibration in the EDM world that being a part of that "storm" would be something to remember forever.
IG What do you think your music can bring into the EDM genre? How does it enhance or enrich the listening experience?
CO I think that each person sees music with different eyes, and there is no difference when talking about producers. I see the world from a different perspective and my music is the pure reflection of that. I can produce a good progressive or a good electro house; it always depends on my mood. If someone doesn't know what to hear in a certain moment, they should certainly listen to my music because it has different vibes that would suit almost everyone in a moment of their lives.
IG Can you please provide us some insight as to the process of creating your EP "Key Moments"?
CO It was a work of years. I thought about every sound in the tracks before produce them. Every track is a reflection of the "key moments" in my life. Being in love, travelling on a bus to go to school, walking on the beach, surfing good waves, chilling on my bedroom... These are some of the small moments that made my life until now. But I'm young; you can expect good track/good moments coming by.
IG Of the tracks you composed and performed for in this EP, which is your favorite and why?
CO I think that "Sweet Slave" was the track that made me happier. Not just because it reflects one of the best feelings in the world (being in love), but also because it has vocals that certainly help creating in the crowd some of the feelings that travel through me every time I play it.
IG What is the best and most memorable (unforgetable) musical / DJing experience you've ever had?
CO I was playing in a beach club and suddenly a "massive wave" of tourists came and filled the space. Their happiness was so BIG!! Every track that I played was like "the track of their lives". We could continued the party for days and days that none of us would get tired! We were sharing some good energy between us. I will always remember the nightclub manager saying "keep going, keep playing please!!" - I played for 4 hours. A moment to live forever in my mind.
IG Which of the great exponents of today's electronic dance music scene who you admire and why?
CO I think my biggest inspiration is Axwell. He started like I'm starting, with nothing. He was just a kid with good creativity and not afraid of doing what we wanted to do, ignoring all the bad people that constantly try to make our life's not worthy.
IG What can we expect from CORE in the near future?
CO You will see so many things. I'm currently working on some new tracks and collabs with other great EDM producers. Big things will come! And don't forget, "Music on, World off"
